(110,900 posts)There are no routers. The scanners are not connected to the internet in any way. Optiscan ballots are filled out and the the voter scans them into the machine, which registers the ballot so the voter can see. The ballot drops into the lockbox at the base of the machine.
At the end of election day, election workers read the tallies of votes kept by the machines. They call those tallies in to the county. The county tallies all the precincts and calls that in to the state. None of this is done online.
Because Republicans are such BIG SQUALLING BABIES, they did a hand count on random machines, and found the hand count and the machine tally matched exactly. No, they didn't do it on every machine. It's called a spot check, and if there was any widespread problem with the system, that would have found it. It didn't.
We use that system statewide in NM.
Mike Pillow just learned a new word. He really doesn't know what he's looking at or what he's talking about. There are no routers to examine, nor simple modems, because Optiscan machines aren't connected to anything but an electrical outlet in the wall.
I suppose he'll want to examine those next.

(36,362 posts)Trump learned a new word - router.
Too bad he didn't learn what they do.
(blog comment:::
He has no idea what he's talking about. Which isn't surprising. Routers don't store data. )
