For some reason I can't remember, I looked all this stuff up about 10 years ago. This guy's stuff is new to me. I think he's really caught the flavor of how it would have sounded at court or in large towns on feast days:



Some old instruments are truly wonderful. Unfortunately, someone has also brought the carnyx back. Investigate at your peril.

Thinking about the person that invented this instrument! Who had the idea of putting this thing together in the first place?! It's so complex. Must research it's background now.

The Arabic-Muslim empires were the profoundly genius-whose list of contributions to civilization is long and deep. Not surprised to see they may have developed this complex instrument.

Though not nearly as old, the harmonium adds a unique quality to this song with Olivia Chaney playing it.
