(205,033 posts)People are dying, they're dying! What does it take?! The evidence has been in since the vaccines became available, it's beyond me how anyone with a functioning brain can't be aware of how many of their unvaccinated family, friends and neighbors are suffering and dying!
I got vaccinated as soon as it was available to me and I'm still scared because their poor choices are putting me - and my vaccinated family - in danger. Yesterday I went to a funeral for my Dad's cousin who died of Covid. She was vaccinated and took precautions and her sister told me that none of them knows how or where she contracted it.

(32,811 posts)She told my boss that she couldnt believe how awful it is and that she has never ever been more sick in her entire life. This woman has heart issues and is unvaccinated. She goes around our building with her nose out of her mask if she even bothering to wear one. Even though it is policy to be masked at all times if youre unvaccinated.
I am exhausted with these people deciding how it will be for the rest doing the right thing. They contribute nothing good or positive or remotely helpful to the human race.
Im so sorry for your loss.

(205,033 posts)Her younger sister was inconsolable and her kids did a stellar job speaking both at the service and at the cemetery. Her eldest daughter is a graduate of West Point. They have always been incredibly supportive at losses in my immediate family and she was the family historian. I will miss her.
And I see people like your coworker every day and I just don't get it. At this point, the writing isn't just on the wall, it's overwhelming since it's affecting pretty much everybody. This is the first person I've known personally who died of Covid and it makes me angry since she did all the right things. Here in New York we had a mask mandate since the beginning - and it was enforced - until last month when it was rescinded and only the unvaccinated are required to wear masks when entering any business. "The honor system," good luck with that.
My Dad's cousin, that entire side of the family, are devout Catholics and the service was in her church. She was very well liked and the church was full, yet every single person was masked - including the boy who sat in front of me with his parents who couldn't have been older than five. They are all also lifelong and very proactive Democrats, so we've lost one of our own.

(57,055 posts)... I knew there were lots of people around me who weren't vaxxed, and we try to live our pandemic life with that in mind.
In the last two weeks, we've learned of at least eight people we know well who've gotten Covid.
The guy I took to the ER, who had let me believe he was vaxxed but wasn't, but he was always masked around me. I found out yesterday his son and daughter and their families, including a year-old child, got it.
That adds up to over twelve people. I got my results back by phone by VA, and it was negative.
I have little sympathy with people who didn't/don't vax. I am torn by the children they're killing off, who have no volition in the matter.
Don't get me started. Ima bout to go out on the porch and shake my cane while yelling incomprehensibly.
