Lots of action tonight. I've seen lots of flashes here, 60 miles south of DC; power went out @ home when I was 7 miles south, and flood warnings:
* Flood Warning for...
Southeastern Prince Georges County in central Maryland...
West Central Calvert County in southern Maryland...
Charles County in southern Maryland...
* Until 600 AM EDT.
* At 125 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing in the warned
area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.

(202,958 posts)Stay safe down there! Here in New York, we've experienced similar weather this summer, too - several violent storms that bring branches and some trees down and we get frequent lightning/thunderstorm/flood warnings. Seems like we get more days with rain than sun.
But this is pretty serious if it's affecting D.C. and it doesn't sound like it's over yet! And I have family in Maryland. Hope everybody's okay...
