that we were putting carbon in the air, and it was going to change things. So even 50 years earlier that was well understood.

I just got done reading an entire book about climate change, The Uninhabitable Earth: Life After Warming by David Wallace Wells. Essentially it's too late and we are all screwed. The book came out two years ago.
