Killer Mike and Robert Costa: Reform the Police
Michael Render (a.k.a Killer Mike) and Robert Costa - both sons of cops - join Bill to discuss reports of police killings being severely undercounted in the U.S.
New Rule: The Slow-Moving Coup
Bill reminds Democrats that Donald Trump is like a shark thats not gone, just gone out to sea and he'll be back to destroy democracy in 2024.
Here's a "bootleg" version of the show which includes the interview with Harvard psychology professor Steven Pinker (7:29), entire panel discussion with Robert Costa and Michael Render (a.k.a Killer Mike) (17:48), Bill's "funny bit" (35:15) and includes the opening part of New Rules (42:46). It won't last long, as usual:

(203,041 posts)The lineup sounded like an interesting one, but they sure took on some serious issues - despite Bill's weekly "funny bit" during the panel. And that New Rules made my blood run cold. We keep hoping that this is behind us, but the leaders and many of the perps are still out there and as long as TFG is inciting his "followers," we're still in danger and need to take this threat damn seriously. I need to watch it again, too.

(2,260 posts)But if Democrats dont pass federal election laws soon, our democracy may be over. I feel really apprehensive about the state of our country. And to think that, should our government be taken over by autocrats, millions of people wont even realize or care that our country is no longer a democracy.

(203,041 posts)But I was beginning to feel slightly better after they launched the House Select Committee since these are our best and brightest, like Adam Schiff and Jamie Raskin who were head impeachment managers. But no matter how many of these demented insurrectionists they round up, there are those who are sympathetic to their aims still serving in government! Like the saying goes, the threat is coming from inside the House - literally!

(203,041 posts)We need to be proactive and be prepared, especially about elections at all levels. We know that they are attempting to target states by electing cooperative governors.

(203,041 posts)And he's right, it scared the hell out of me. This needs to scare everybody and, as you said, the key is gaining control at the state level. And, as we have seen, no state is immune.

(2,868 posts)Bill complaining about 'we don't have enough workers' for all the job openings, but omitted the part about Delta killing two thousand people a day, every day.
Saw an interview with a woman who has been applying for jobs for months, saying she's willing to work from home, but every job she's been offered is only in-person, which she's too scared to do.
