Retail stores are hiring their own ships to avoid shortages in the stores for Christmas.guess they will put their trucks on the road. If we still had Rairoads a lot of this problem could be solved and think of the fuel we could save. Oil and Truck lobbyists killed the railroads.

They need to be rebuilt with high speed.

Not as bad as the beginning of the pandemic, but there ae fewer items and the price has gone up. I had toilet paper on my list last week and almost skipped it since it the package I usually buy had gone up $5! But I remembered last year when the shelves were bare and, even at the beginning when I had to go to two stores and ended up with the last package on the shelf. Since there were only 3 packages left, I bought it anyway.

Because each has certain products I can not live with out..

Cracked Wheat bread has gone up 40 cents. Walmart was the only one to carry it. Local product. I asked the Kroger manager to put it on the shelf. $1.59 at Walmart. $1.99 at Kroger’s. Both stores went up 40 cents.. Both stores have certain items not stocked now.

Even the so called stores sales are higher. Store brands for those I know are good.

... I seen that coming over 30 years ago. Many of the farmers shot themselves in the foot (on shipping costs) being mad at, "the damn railroad goes right through my flat back 40 cornfield", attitudes...

And of course, the oil and truck lobbyists. Oh, and the Big Three in Detroit.

One of the big three that was clear years ago when trucks began to flood the freeways with trucks that keep getting bigger and bigger. My Dad and Grandfather were all Rail roaders.

Now, we need to get high speed rail like the rest of the world has. We have been shoveling money into wars, not minding our own business while the rest of the world modernized.

We are going into a new economy, workers are in the cat bird seat denpmanding decent wages, benefits and working conditions!
