Republicans have never been reasonable about anything that means progress for the average American. Going all the way back to FDR. They fought him every step of the way. This is not a new thing,except Mitch seems to be the most evil but there have been others.

They are clearly working for the dark side and probably will both leave politics after this with extremely rich and cushy jobs given them by Republican apparatchiks.

(43,141 posts)The only outcome where we squeak through is to hold the House or Senate in 2022 and one of them in 2024. That would give time for the mood of the country to change.
I doubt all the GOP gerrymandering and voter suppression will succeed to the extent they'd like. The issue is too widely known now, voters may reject 1/3 of their initiatives by electing Democrats.
