. . . but I can guarantee it's not the most explicit material her 17 or 18-year-old son can imagine and has already seen!

Calling sexual inexperience or lack of sexual knowledge "innocence" is part of our general sexual neurosis, IMO. Sex is a fundamental part of life, and essential to the propagation of the species. That it should be weighted down with all of this cultural baggage about "purity" and "innocence" never made any sense to me. I think it is is completely wrong-headed!

they had sex, another major mile stone in life is seeing the birth of their child and all the other major milestones tied to the clock.

My interpretation of The Return To Innocence isn't so much about innocence being equated to sex or lack thereof as it is to being young again and seeing all that slip away with each milestone.
