2. The most interesting thing to me was the reference to General Grant.

I'm sure she would know that would be a poke in the eye to the racially minded Republicans who revere Gen. Lee.

4. Very good point!

And she also talked about "the party of Lincoln" - who obviously supported General Grant. Is it now the position of Republicans to support the losing side in the Civil War?? I know that certain Southern states inexplicably cling to their previous Confederate status, but Wyoming??

9. My favorite quote from Grant that is ever so poignant today

"There are but two parties now: traitors and patriots. And I want hereafter to be ranked with the latter and, I trust, the stronger party."

Ulysses S. Grant

12. Federalists have hated democracy since the beginning

Leopards haven't changed their spots.

18. +1000! And I live very near Grant's Cottage, Grant's last home and where he died

When we were kids, my grandmother (a teacher) often took us to historic places and she knew the caretaker of Grant's Cottage, so I can remember visiting there. And these days they have frequent historical programs there.

3. If she can run as an independent, she could syphon off enough republican votes to defeat Hageman

17. Apparently, anyone can vote in the primary, so a lot of Democrats crossed party lines to vote for her

They know that they're going to be represented by a Republican in Wyoming, so at least they'd prefer the one most qualified - and who opposes TFG.

6. Wow.

If nothing else, go to 2:20 in the clip to see some of the primary 'debate'. As he warns, this is NOT an SNL skit (although after watching it, I'm not so sure!)

7. Gotta tip my hat to Liz Cheney. I don't much like her Dad,

but he raised a courageous, thoughtful, and well-balanced daughter. Liz Cheney had tremendous backbone: a true leader and patriot.

8. I watched her full speech

I was very impressed and loved the line: "Our great nation must not be ruled by a mob provoked over social media." That sums up the entire four years of Trump that culminated on January 6th.

10. I have to give her enormous credit for that speech, she spoke the truth with class and courage

Not to mention her stellar work on the J6 Committee. Those in Wyoming don't know what they're losing - she's been a fighter, for them. And I saw parts of the Wyoming primary debate and every other candidate was painfully clueless. Actually, I posted a portion of it here awhile back:

Liz Cheney deserves better competition - The Republican Accountability Project

This wasn't SNL on a Thursday night.

This was Wyoming's Republican primary debate.

Incumbent two-term United States Congresswoman Liz Cheney debated four right-wing challengers at a debate on Thursday night ahead of Wyoming's August GOP primary election. She was the only sane one on stage.
