1. this is bad, but there is more to labeling

The WTO was (likely still is) pushing to have have food labels that do not state their country of origin. To them, for example, chicken is chicken no matter where it was produced (or how!), and forget about labeling dolphin-free tuna too. I guess we're all supposed to just shut up and quietly consume. I know the FDA is separate from USDA, but I read somewhere a few months back, that the USDA's prime mission statement is to "promote U.S. agricultural products"...... not (directly) their safety, or standards of how they are produced: Thank big agra-business for that one too!
