A possible explanation for the grand jury delay:

On Edit: this video was posted yesterday, and isn't a breaking update today — but it is relevant.

At about the 5:00 minute mark Karen Agnifilo of MeidasTouch gives her best explanation for the delay. Karen Agnifilo is an ex-Manhattan D.A. prosecutor who worked for the office of the SDNY. To sum up her argument, the DAs office likely wants to negotiate the timing of the indictment vote and Trump's arraignment to be as close as possible, for the sake of security. If they voted today and it leaked, or Trump released it, that would leave the indictment hanging over the weekend and give his supporters time to plan for violence in New York. She states that she has no inside information, and this is her conjecture based on experience.
