8:55 am pacific, IIRC.

Tradition has it that if January 20 falls on a Sunday, there shall be a quite actual swearing in, per the US Constitution, and then the Public Inauguration festivities and swearing in at a later time.

His second term began yesterday.

I think we've seen a lot recently that indicates a more aggressive progressive(ish) Barack Obama!

The first 4 years went by too fast. That's not fair!

Each of both four years of Dubya was excruciatingly long. Seriously, I feel stabs in my heart just typing that.

Then along comes President Obama, a family man, and an intellectual gentleman (and a really cute one, at that), and his years flew by like it was a race or something.

It's not fair.

Hey, how are ya my friend? I love your puppy dog.

Is that a SS dude between him and Michelle?

It was a most excellent Inauguration Ceremony!

Now on to the Parade!

Are we happy yet? Cheers to you and all here at DU!

And a snappy salute to President Obama!

Very happy to have four more years of his leadership.

If there's ANY hope, he's the one to move it forward. And may the house change in 2014.

but I've been concerned about that from day 1... There are rabid haters out there. Lots of them. He gets around 30 death threats per day, as I recall. I just read something recently about that. It's probably worse than any president ever and I'm sure more than a few are purely for racist reasons. Of course, I can't know that. There's just so much irrational hatred that's been there from the beginning. I know the GOP and Fox and the radio hate-talkers have fired the flames, but it's just so over the top and without any reasonable basis. I despised Bush, but never could work up that kind of hatred toward him and he really did do some evil things.
