here. And of course we significantly overbought....because all of the above are really good when frozen first!
Our neighborhood has really shifted - when we moved in 25 years ago, lots of young families, and halloween was a busy night. Not a whole lot going on out there tonight (meaning the freezer will have lots of goodies for future snacking!)

(1,904 posts)My wife bought 5 bags of the those mixes that have like 4-5 different mini candy bars/packs in them. The last couple years we have had a good amount of kids come through, this year though it seemed to be down some. Probably because of the weather, its kinds windy and cold now.

One young lady actually thanked me for being allergy aware.
We had about 45 kids come by (my husband's idea to count) which was not as many as I expected.

Got it at Aldi.

(12,581 posts)The larger snack size, about half full sized bars. If I didn't have to plan for between 40 and 60 trick or treaters, I'd have gone with full sized.
After 3 hours, I've gone through 4 bags worth at 2 apeice. Starting to see the older kids now.
One more hour or two more bags to go...

(11,854 posts)We had a "theme" going...."Indiana Jones" - A maze of dead ends, strobe lights, black lights, mummies, vines w/ ivy, swinging bridge, skulls and skeletons, an open wooden casket that said "Grave robbers beware", tombstones, a table of various chalices full of and surrounded by the candy, necklaces, and 'gold' coins we were giving out. We had a sign on the table that said "Choose wisely". There were tiles that they could walk on that spelled out C - A - N - D - Y.
We just closed up shop and took down what we needed to in order to get the important stuff back inside for the night. We opened the "doors" at 6:30.
I made dinner for our kids friends (16-24yo) and anybody else that wanted to grab a plate - caprese salad, roasted broccoli, mac/cheese, cupcakes, and drinks.
Had 45-50 neighborhood kids and their parents visit and go through the maze.
Only had 3 sandwich baggies of candy left over - one goes to school tomorrow with our son, one to work with me for our candy dish, and one to work with my husband for his candy dish.
Next year's theme -- Disney's Haunted Mansion! Will include 3D glasses/effects. Already made the Napster playlist!

(12,051 posts)of kids -- like your neighborhood, ours didn't have very many young families for about 10 years and thus few trick-or-treaters. Now it's filled with kids, which is very nice. All the kids were cute and had good manners - and the teenagers were darlings, too. I love to give out candy at Halloween, so I had a blast!
