I need a rec on a good free wav file to mp3 app?

I went through the trouble of downloading one, and as it was starting to convert it a message popped up that I need to buy the full version to convert all of it. I've been researching...thought I'd ask here

It's for ripping CDs and converting wav to whatever. get the LAME.enc plug-in for EAC to convert to mp3. IF you want to compress without any loss you can also do SHN (shorten) or Flac.

It's not HARD hard but it does take a little reading and searching but it's worth the effort.

It does everything. Not sure if it is Windows, but it is free, open source, and extremely configurable. I used it in Linux for years.

My favorite was always to use MP3 variable bit rate, which LAME did so well that the resulting MP3 would have surprising fidelity given the size.
