Here's a fun exercise. Name the cars you've owned and when you owned them

It also serves as what kind of economic situations you might have been in at the time. Or speaks to one's frugality (a mix of both in my case).

1975 AMC hornet 1983
1977 Plymouth Fury Sport coupe 1983
1979 Chevy Camaro 1984
1976 Buick Limited 1986
1983 Buick T-Type 1987
1987 Pontiac Firebird 1987
1978 Olds Delta 88 1989
1977 Buick Riviera 1990
1980 Datsun 200SX 1991
1983 Honda Accord 1992
1987 Honda Civic 1994
1989 Accura Integra 1995
1986 Porsche 944 2000
1986 Porsche 928 2002
1994 Cadillac STS 2003
2002 Chrysler Town & Country 2012
2008 Volkswagon Jetta 2016
2012 Chevy Impala 2017

Probably around 1972, or so.
Big car gap while I was in the Navy
Next was a yellow Pinto. That was around 1983. Yea, looking back, I have to laugh
When I got out of the service I bought a Red Escort, sometime around 1985
Next a blue Cavalier, some time in the mid 1990's.
Then I entered my Saturn stage, and that's all I've driven, ever since.
The first was a lease on a Burgendy SL1 - maybe a 1998 or 99
Then I bought a Blue Saturn SL1, in about 2002.
My current car is a 2002 Gold Saturn station wagon that I bought from my Mom, when we realize she really shouldn't be driving. It overlapped my Blue SL1, for a few years, until I sold that to my brother, with less than 40,000 miles, on it.
My wagon has less than 95,000 miles on it. It is the first car I've owned that has any 'bells and whistles' like power windows, seats, etc. I will keep driving it until it dies, or someone takes away my keys.

ok..I'll bite, cause it is real easy.

1974 Beetle, bought in 1976 for 900.00, like new condition.
Traded it for a Plymouth arrow in 1986 cause needed a hatchback..
1994 Toyota Paseo, sold it a few months ago.
all cars were stick shift and great on gas.

Mr. Dixie and I now co-share a 2002 Taurus. We don't drive much anymore.

My very first car:

I painted it copper color with a dozen spray cans. It was very "distinctive" sitting in the high school parking lot.

1967: an old Rambler Metropolitan convertible that I later gave to my dad, and he restored it as a project:

I don't have any idea what other cars I've had. I never cared much about cars, or paid any attention to them. They were simply a tool to move me around.

I did, however, own two different VW buses at various times in the 70s and 80s and an old Austin Healy Sprite in the 90s that tried very hard to kill me.

My first car was not mine-- it was my grandmother's old car given to my family so my sister and I had a car to learn to drive on.
1991 Ford Escort--- 1996-1999 (I got my license in 1998)
1999 Ford Escort 1999-2007 (sudden death)
1999 Subaru Forester 2007-present (selling it when I buy the car mentioned below)
2010 Subaru Legacy 2018- (buying it off my grandmother's estate. Just waiting until 1/1 when the value goes down).

1980 - Mercury Zephyr Wagon - 1987-95
1992 - Mercury Sable Wagon - 1995-2000 (totaled in 2000 - not my fault)
1998 - Mercury Villager Minivan - 2000-2012
2012 - Subaru Forester (hatchback) - 2012-current

Too bad they d/c'd Mercuries.

I tried some Fords when my Villager died, but it wasn't the same. I switched to Subaru because it fit my lifestyle and because it had a decent rear window. Most other hatchbacks had non-existent rear windows with non-existent rear views.

Prior to my Dodge, I drove my parent's Pontiac wagon and my dad's Rambler. I didn't get my own car until I was graduating from college.
