Hermann's Hermits with the original version of There's a kind of Hush...

Riding in my jeep listening to Karen Carpenter sing this and loving it...then it hit me...I really love the original version, but had completely forgotten it even existed...Peter Noone has the voice for pop

He was so young (17 or 18) when the Hermits had all their big hits. Still tours.

Karen Carpenter is perfect and I love everything she's done, but I like this better.

That slightly flattened note and ever so slight crack of the voice at "...and nobody else..." really sends me.

I rarely hear that song but when I think of it I youtube it. It is pretty and wonderful and really leaves you feeling good. Maybe this is one of those times. I think I will hook it up for my barn cleaning routine. Thanks for the reminder of this beautiful tune.

Jr. High School. My brother was the big HH fan but I loved them as well.
