Can anyone recommend a Chromebook for a sixth grader?

Our kid is doing more and more computer-based work making it a good time to get him off the home PC and onto a Chromebook (which probably suits his needs more than a standard laptop. Does anyone have a recommendation?

The Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook mentioned in the article is billed as being tough enough to stand up to a younger student.

3. I bought one of these, and it works great...

I know we're supposed to hate Walmart, but wtf-- I paid a little over hundred for this thing when I saw a couple of months ago, it and runs pretty much everything in the Google store. I use it every day.

Chrome comes with it, and I loaded Opera as my primary browser. It has an e-book reader, Office clone, and pretty much everything you need, with pretty good battery life.

The detachable keyboard is convenient.

5. That's an Android tablet with a keyboard, not a Chromebook.

That might matter for schoolwork.

4. I've had a Dell Chromebook for a couple of years

Works great and the battery lasts all day. I use it when I go to conferences, since the battery lasts so long, and it's fairly light.
