Does anybody else DETEST those "captcha" online security thingies?

I see it more and more... just now I wanted to buy a movie ticket online. After everything else, I had to click "I'm not a robot" and then click on all these images that have cars or storefronts or some other BS. And then another screen of the same BS showed up.

I can accept online security and all, but sometimes I think the people who come up with this are kids just sitting there laughing at us... or even using the time to mine our computers for data. It took me longer to go through this BS that to stand in line at the theater and just buy the ticket.

Okay, rant over. Back to work.

Actually, some of those systems are being used to "crowd source" research about old documents. The put barely legible images on and see what the "crowd" says they say.
