1. Huge Kerouac fan here. I'm pretty sure I've read everything he published.

Even his daughter's novel 'Baby Driver" and the excellent biography by Ann Charters.
I tried to read all the beats. They shaped my life too. Cross country trips in old cars. hopping freight
trains..... Neal Cassady too.
Jack died in Lowell, from booze. RIP Kind soul.

3. I think he died in St. Petersburg, Florida, at his mom's house. I remember reading Ginsberg's

piece when it happened- I believe he said, "Jack has died in St. Pete."

Kerouac was a tortured soul and imperfect man.

A book I really enjoyed (that sent me back for a reread on many Kerouac works), was written Cassidy's wife, Off the Road.

6. The question I always ask Kerouac fans is: Are you a Nelson Algren fan?

Algren was doing the same type of writing 15 years before him.

2. Unintentionally......but interestingly

In my life I have lived a block away from Jack's house in Orlando, Fl and also where William and Emily Harris (Patty Hearst) lived in Bloomington, IN. Never new about either until I had moved in and would not have cared anyway.
