Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsSnug knows how to spend his Caturday.
Living the good life, relaxing in his cardboard box. (Folks here might remember he was one of a feral litter I found under my porch last spring. I entered a photo of them in the spring photography contest. He was very sick with calicivirus when he was little, but he made it and is thriving now.)

(8,201 posts)He used to look like a space alien or--when he was sick--a desiccated bat when he was younger, but he just looks like a handsome cat now.

(22,896 posts)A few weeks ago, I spent a frustrating two hours assembling a cat tree and-- you guess it-- none of my three cats have shown the slightest interest in it!
PS He's a thriving beauty

(9,696 posts)So its one of their earliest memories. Who knows?
femmedem
(8,201 posts)I think you are right, it's an early memory for a lot of cats. Snug's mom was feral, though, and he was born outside.

(60,010 posts)I got them at barely 6 weeks.
One goes for the box every time, the other ignores it.
Just for fun I put a 2nd box down next to the first box that the cat had been claiming for a couple weeks.
Sure enuf, he hopped out of the first box and into the 2nd one.

(23,650 posts)She really doesn't do any of the cute cat things I see others post about their cats. Oh she does catches lizards who tragically find their way into the lanai and brings them into me.

(8,201 posts)But she is showing you she loves you in her own special way.

(8,201 posts)We had one that the other cats disdained, but then Snug came along and he uses it every day.

(60,010 posts)I also found something the cats love better than catnip.
It's valerian root powder, comes in capsules that you can open. I sprinkle a bit of that on a plate the both cats go crazy for it.
Then they take nice relaxed long naps.
I looked it up, just to make sure cats can have it.

We adopted a feral cat (Picabo--pronounced peek a boo) who has rewarded us with shredded furniture.

We have another cat who prefers the couch, though. But our couch is a free Craig's List couch with a cover over it. We figured if we didn't spend money on a couch, we wouldn't get angry if it gets destroyed.
Picabo is a great name!
(And yeah, I've got no excuse for not trimming his nails. He's not feral anymore so he lets me.)
WhiteTara
(29,704 posts)taught Picasso how to sharpen his claws on the furniture, so now there's 2 of them...nail trimming at our house is an ordeal for me.

(29,704 posts)to tell you what a beautiful kitty (also known as a furry purr motor) you have. He looks really happy.
