Sorry that your last week here in Europe was under unseasonable icy conditions. However, you got to see some places you never got to see before, and I'm sure Ingo took care of you in Potsdam and elsewhere in Berlin.
And, of course, you got to see my little corner of the Düsseldorf area--castle, Kurdish fruit dealers, Greek restauranteurs and all. Not only that, you got to meet Mrs. DFW--not something ANYone on DU outside of California Peggy and Lionel Mandrake can claim!
I hope the return wasn't too much of a reality jolt. Usually, after a trip like yours, the day you get back to familiar surroundings, you tend to ask yourself, did I just dream all that?

(54,302 posts)But my friend in Berlin seems to have taken care of him while he was there, and he certainly got to see some places that were definitely worth seeing, like Oslo, Amsterdam and Prague. I think he was planning to include Vienna somewhere in the equation as well.
He should be giving us a report if he isn't too exhausted when he gets in later today. Berlin to South Florida is not a quick jaunt, so he has a few hours left of flight time in all likelihood.
