Truth be told I'm not a fan of the actual guy. I had a friend who had some rather unpleasant exchanges with him over horses years back and he's known to be a dick. BUT, he's an icon and I enjoy watching him and he's bloody eighty seven years old. He's been doing a silly little series on world travel with George Foreman, Terry Bradshaw and Henry Winkler, and his pomposity is a running joke, which warms me to him a bit, but damn. Traveling the world at eighty seven?

(6,261 posts)He seems to be more self-deprecating than I remember. I recently read his biography of his friend Leonard Nimoy, and unless he's misrepresenting himself, he comes across as quite nice. I thought they hated each other.

(41,915 posts)My friends husband was an American Saddlebred judge and Shatner showed his horses so wasnt above sucking up. He gave her a REALLY nice USSEnterprise jacket which she complained she could never wear because all the old guys wanted to know about her time in the Navy. 😄

Alas, DeForest Kelley is already gone so we can't have the real Bones say it.
