Daddy, I failed my driver's test and about your car....

— Taking a driving test is a stressful moment for any teenager. But for one Minnesota teen, she managed to fail her test before she ever got on the road.

Buffalo Police said the 17-year-old put the Chevrolet Equinox in drive instead of reverse, bringing the test to a crashing halt as the SUV plowed into the driver’s examination office.

“This led to the vehicle lurching forward when she accelerated, causing the vehicle to move forward and over the curb, striking the building housing the exam station office,” the agency said in a Facebook post.

The driver was not hurt in the accident, but the 60-year-old test administrator suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital, Buffalo Police said.

The crash caused significant damage to the building and the SUV. No one was inside the office at the time of the accident.

Police said the driver will not face any charges.

1. Gosh, guess it's like a flying instructor being considered pilot-in-command with a student.

If there's an accident it's considered the instructor's error. Poor guy/gal examiner, risks of the job.

It took him six tries and during one of them the examiner yelled at him not to hit a girl in an intersection!

That driver will probably also not face any need to put their signature on a document confirming receipt of a driver's license in the forseeable future.

He gets his license after his test. (Of course in those days, it was a hand written piece of paper until the real one came in the mail.)

His parents had decent money. Only kid, dad worked at Caterpillar and mom was an RN. So, he's already got his own car.

He goes and picks up a friend and goes for a drive. On a major thoroughfare on the west side he gets pulled over for doing 48 in a 40. Cop gives him a break as he's only had his license for 20 minutes.

Cop goes back to his car, and kid puts car in gear, but it's reverse. Backs into cop car. Of course, no 5 mph bumper so there's damage to both cars. Of course, the cop can't give him a break on this one. His car is messed up a bit.

So, within 25 minutes of getting his car, he gets pulled over for speeding and hits a stationary cop car.

Not quite as bad as this picture, but pretty bad.

9. Friend's daughter got her license

Purposely bought a car without a radio, so she would concentrate on the road, not the music. Other rules being no eating or drinking in the car, no passengers, and no driving to school. Mom left before daughter started her school day and got home after daughter finished.

You know what happened.

Second day after getting license, Mom called to the school. Daughter had crashed into the cyclone fence surrounding the school parking lot, ruining a big section of the fence. Daughter was okay. As was her passenger. But her Big Gulp spilled all over the boom box in the back seat.

8. Decades back my aunt told me a story about a friend who was taking a driving test when

a suicidal person jumped in from of her vehicle. Killed, but after investigation her friend got her license issued since she was innocent of any wrong fault in it. Can't imagine ever, EVER being comfortable behind the wheel after that. Could be urban legend but my aunt swore she knew her as did others in the family.

ran up onto the guard rail where the parking part of the test is taken in a Pennsylvania town with the State Trooper in the car.

She failed.

The trooper was pretty upset, I think I saw him toss his clipboard across the parking lot as he was walking back to the exam building.
