Wouldn't it be great if Windows....

...had a version available which excluded plug and play?

Let's face it folks, computers mostly come as laptops and desktops. About the only thing that you plug into a new laptop isn't a network interface card and is a USB device. Go to the website and DL what you need.

Several new desktops I've seen have the warranty voided if you open the case. USB again, see the above.

And I have to say, plug and play has come a long long way since the 286 I rebuilt from found parts the year before that!

While some people like me do have needs more than the average computer user, I do have to agree that plug and play is not really need by most.
