I need some help

from fellow DUers on suggestions for a food gift. I'm going to briefly visit a good friend tomorrow afternoon who has just come home from the hospital after having surgery, and I'd like to bring her a little something in the way of a food treat. Her husband is on a gluten-free diet, and I'd like to bring something they can both enjoy, so something like muffins or banana bread is out. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance! -- Ohiogal

Get a pretty basket and put some organic fruit in it. Add a humorous get well care. Whatever fruit is currently is season. Lots of fruit is just now coming into season. Depending on where you live, you might find canteloupe, strawberreies, blueberries, peaches, plums, etc.

I don’t know if that meets your requirements, but I have been seeing giant strawberries in the store lately. They are perfect for stuffing.

Was recovering from minor surgery and got a gift of a basket of various kinds of coffee pods (yeah I know, landfills) and it was great to try different kinds.

especially if it was in the torso. Avoid spicy food and things with a strong taste.

Try chicken soup with rice and tiny pieces of veggies (like grated carrots).
