Derby Pick Time!

My wagering will cover a variety of angles but my 3 horses are:

Mendelssohn
Bolt d'Oro
Hofburg

I expect Mendy to win but Bolt can kick ass so I am boxing them in wagers. I like Hofburg, as a closer, to pick off tiring horses at the finish. Good luck to anyone who plays!

I am siding against the favorite Justify, as the horse has never run outside of Santa Anita and his 3 races had fields of 5/5/and 7 horses. Today's field of 20 is going to shock him.

Sounds like you know what you’re doing! It’s all Greek to me but it sure is fun to speculate.

I'm sticking with Justify to win, Mendelssohn to place, and Audible to show.....subject to change at any given moment before bets are off!
Any idea of the track conditions? Rain, rain and more rain forecasted.....

But could be later based on prior races. If there are inquires or late scratches in earlier races the time will adjust.

It can be very dangerous, but these are the pros on the track today.

Was a pro too, no offense intended.

While it's very true, for me, the Derby is the "most exciting 2mins in sports," I agree with MM and am always very nervous about the horses being hurt.

That tragedy kept me from watching horse racing for years. Hoping for a good clean race today. 🤞

Bolt D'oro, Magnum Moon and Mendelssohn opened as early co-favorites to win the 2018 Kentucky Derby, according to Vegas Insider, though Justify emerged as the new favorite as of May 5.

With no clear-cut favorite, could we see another longshot winner at the Derby? The odds will be updated several times leading up to the race, but here are the results after the post position draw: - at link
