(14,530 posts)Never and insuring 3 kids through their teen years has not been easy. I think it has a lot to do with our agent.

(4,516 posts)I did change agents once. Our old agent sold his business to a new person who started harassing us for payment days before they were due. The emails were threatening if the payment was late and we didn't make late payments.

(60,010 posts)Lots of lawsuits over bad settlements, going back years.
Which is why we are not using them, but I did in Cal. for my car. Never had a claim.

re: settlements etc, cause JUST heard from them about a claim I have against them/their insured. I have Geico, who suggested I make claim through other party's insurance which is allstate. (In Maryland.)
She backed into me in parking lot, damaged DRIVER door, EDIT! (can't fully close or lock it, and some damage to mirror. Maybe frame too.) My old car may be a 'total,' but I want repair $.
Spoke with allstate claim 'adjuster,' who said their investigation showed we were both at fault. I will receive it in the mail, and can take it up with Geico for arbitration. Must say I don't have $1500 hanging around for repair, but even more angry/upset that I could be at fault when someone backs into my car.
Thanks again, grrrrl.

(60,010 posts)It is pretty easy to tell the the one off complaints from the serious ones. Has saved me a lot of $$$$.
Allstate absolutely screwed over hurricane victims down here, esp. after Katrina.
State Farm gets lots of complaints for poor claims, too.
