Cool pillow?? anybody got one? Any recommendations?

I require cool at night. The pillow I have now is better than what I have had, but it could be lots better.

I see lots of claims online, but have already tried 3 I think "cool" pillows that went back to the retailer.

I know the cool people hang here - so what keeps you cool?

Maybe if I could turn my brain off at night? I will take suggestions on that also.

Back in about an hour or so - thanks for any suggestions.

I just laid out a small fortune for new linens.
reading the reviews, info. and etc, I got bamboo fibre pillow cases, they promised cool.
They are nice, have lovely texture, much like sateen, but sturdy.
so far, no problems with temperature issues at night.

You might to check them out. Got mine on Amazon, very good quality, good price.

Also dumped the way too old pillows and got feather pillows. Might have something to do with it.

2. I've used buckwheat hull pillows for about 20 years for the same reason.

I live in the desert so a pillow that doesn't absorb and retain heat is a must have. The little buckwheat hulls are slightly cupped, allowing heat to dissipate and air circulation to ventilate the pillow. As a plus, they retain whatever shape you make so your head or face doesn't sink into the pillow. As the hulls flatten over time they will need to be replaced, that's about every two years for me, the refill packs are cheap.

There's lots of info online. If you get one, go for the smaller, Japanese version rather than a full sized pillows. Due to the weight, they are easier to handle and adjust.

I'll never go back to a regular pillow. Many are kind of small but I found a queen size one on Amazon. It's a monster, but it's great. I love the buckwheat pillows.

for over 20 years now. They also help to align your neck bones properly so you get a better night’s sleep.

Everything procon said.

You make your own. Bulk hulls are available and so are zipper enclosed pillow cases in several different sizes. Just make sure the cases are made of natural fibers - cotton, linen or silk.

...they last about 6 months then they start leaking and they were..in the day... close to 30$. So I went thru about 3 of them and then gave up.
More recently I got another one...its been a few years since the original and these dont seem to chill as well and they also are a little smaller i think.

I sleep So hot at night. I always have. I need a chillow mattress!

seem to be fairly cheap on Amazon - I hate buying from Amazon - but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I will check it out. Not sure when - I think I have a couple of weeks.

it's wonderful in the winter.

Too costly at this moment to change but maybe in a month.
If the bed were cooler them maybe the pillow wouldn't be an issue?

Is your mattress like a Casper or Purple?

Mattresses they sell at their normal “sale prices” are also listed on their clearance section online, but only if you look! And in their clearance section, the prices can vary a whole lot. The same one I found at 70%, and brought the listing in to the local store to buy, the salesman checked and for me at 80% off! He said basically they have the markdowns on a schedule, and “older” ones in the warehouse will be cheaper. He also said the irony is, they’ll take your order off the top of the pile, and it’s literally the last one they got in. I couldn’t believe the discounts- you just really have to know the exact type you want and they’ll be many to choose from.

I find temperpedic unbearable! I love that foam you feel not pressure points ever, and is not bouncy at all. Someone else can get up and come back and not move he bed one bit. I love it.

It was a shredded memory foam hybrid pillow. Keeps its shape and the cooling side is about 3 degrees cooler. I think it cost $30

it does cool for a short while but warms fast.

However I found the one product that does. Sleep number cool mattress topper. Cost about a grand, put you can put ithe temp up or down. I've had it for ten years, first I can't believed it work and it's the best thing I ever bought.

When my son was in college he got carpel tunnel and I bought him a single, so he can put the wrist on cool overnight to bring down the inflammation. Worked.

Got any questions, ask.

Found the name, dual temp individual layer.
