(111,304 posts)And as a follow up as to whether ginger ale and vodka can be mixed, I found this interesting information and the drink known as a Copperhead:
The Copperheads, or Peace Democrats, were a group of Democrats located in the Northern United States of the Union who opposed the policies of President Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. Copperheads opposition to Lincoln was over his executive powers and reported violations of the constitution, including their view that a war against slavery was unconstitutional. After Lincolns reelection and the fall of Atlanta in 1864, Copperheadism dissolved.
Ingredients:
2 ounces vodka
5 ounces ginger ale
Lime wedge
Directions:
In an ice-filled highball glass, combine the vodka and ginger-ale.
Squeeze the lime wedge over the drink, drop it in, and serve.

(111,304 posts)However, the cat bit me on the back of my right leg and I had a baseball size knot on my shin. The doctor actually put me in the hospital for one night. They ran an ultrasound, but I didn't require surgery. The bacteria cultures showed that I had both pastuerella and staph infections. Things were pretty nasty with a lot of drainage and I was in pain for about three weeks. I've recovered, but the antibiotics lead to some extra time in the bathroom and laundry room.
By the way, the two outdoor cats have disappeared. The one that got the bites on me was a three-year old tabby and the other was a one-year old long hair tabby. The indoor ranks have narrowed down to the 3 year old male Siamese and a one year old female. Both of those are primarily house cats and barring some bizarre accident I should be safe with them.
