I listened to Musical Starstreams on the radio in Chicago in the late 80's.
I found a Wiki article-

My then fiancee and I would drive up to the Ashokan Reservoir and look at Hailey's Comet (1986) and listen to the show. I remember the commercials for Canton speakers.
