and I walked past the Clearance rack .... I thought hey, let's see what they have here.
And I found a really nice top, a Vera Wang design, I loved it. Marked down to $8! That's my kind of price.
I took my few purchases up to the checkout counter. The man who was working the register was friendly and chatty. He wasn't exactly a teenager, I'd place him anywhere between 25 and 35.
Anyway, as he scanned the tag for my Vera Wang top, he said, "Hey, this is a nice top. I just bought the exact same one for my GRANDMOTHER for a Mother's Day gift!"

(34,195 posts)Too pricey for me.
Didn't see a 'clearance section'.
I'm a fan of JC Penney.

(31,665 posts)...that's why I only look at the clearance or sale things. And even then I don't go that often. I buy my Food Saver bags there when they send me a coupon in the mail. That's what I was there for the other day.

(31,319 posts)Got one of their credit cards and every time I received a 30% discount coupon from them I'd take whatever boy
needed something over there to get it--jeans, t-shirts, shorts, socks, etc. Didn't buy shoes there.
Kohl's had a much better selection for boys' stuff than Penney's.

(86,059 posts)I make my own greeting cards, most are flower designs but one is like a screen shot of some place beyond our solar system. Once, back in college as a late bloomer of 40-something, my work-study super told me it was our boss' B-day and I was invited for cake, etc..
Somehow I imagined it must be his 50th or something since there was a party. During my break I went home and fetched a card, the outerspace card seemed best. I had a time trying to think of what to write in it... then it came to me (it had to be funny). I wrote:
"This picture is to remind you that there actually is something out there that is older than you!"
He framed it and kept it on his desk the rest of my time there.
I relate this only for those who might be interesed.
