(130,727 posts)At the beginning of World War II, she and composer George Antheil developed a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes, which used spread spectrum and frequency hopping technology to defeat the threat of jamming by the Axis powers.[5] Although the US Navy did not adopt the technology until the 1960s, the principles of their work are arguably incorporated into Bluetooth technology, and are similar to methods used in legacy versions of CDMA and Wi-Fi.[6][7][8] This work led to their induction into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2014.

EX NASA SCIENTISTS SHARE CONCEALED INFORMATION ABOUT THE FACE & PYRAMID ON MARS
In 1976, the United States sent a pair of space probes, known as Viking 1 and Viking 2, to Mars.
Viking 1 was launched on August 20, 1975, and Viking 2 was launched in September of the same year.
Both probes photographed the surface of Mars from orbit, and one studied the planet from the surface.
The first one touched down on the surface of Mars on July 20, 1976, and the second a couple of months later.
The main objectives of the mission were to obtain high-resolution images of Mars, to look for any evidence of life, and to learn more about the structure and composition of the atmosphere.

I've seen way too many questionable photos to ALL be coincidences. dt is the president, and you think it's unquestionably possible that the govt didn't want us to see the face on Mars? Just sayin. I've seen far more that looks more convincing. When it comes to space and other planets, everything is suspect.

(27,767 posts)In early November, 1952, Helen and Jerome Barr were looking for pine cones near an Ostrich farm outside Salt lake City when they saw an unattended ostrich egg, which they immediately picked up and took home.
After they returned home, Helen and Jerome (Jerry) took turns sitting on the egg until it hatched
To their surprise, a human-like "ostrich-girl" emerged from the egg demanding to be fed.
The rest is history.

This was the Nazi Harald Quandt, pictured with his mother and step father, Joseph Goebbels.
Here's the "happy" family pictured:
Herbert's the one in the Nazi uniform.
The woman, Joanna Magda (Quandt) Goebbels, murdered, with the assistance her husband, Joseph Goebbels, all of the children in this picture on May 1, 1945, (except Harald Quandt) and then went up to the garden from the bunker in which they were living whereupon "Dr." and Mrs Goebbels killed themselves.
Her only survivor was her son by her first marriage, Harald, who went on with other family members (his father's family) to salvage the wreck of BMW and build it into a major corporation, beloved by wealthy people today.
A 2007 documentary uncovered the Nazi past of the entire Quandt family and their use of concentration camp slaves during World War II.

Mine is the one where Bob Elliott takes Chris & his married friend camping with him, then proceeds to deliberately lose them.
They look for Chris' dad with no luck and eat psychedelic berries, which makes them both hallucinate.
The other one I remember was when Chris buys a "waterproof" watch that turns out not to be waterproof, so he goes back to the store for a refund.

(63,221 posts)he had this rival called "Sapphire". They make him model with his shirt off as the "fat" model, while Sapphire is the "after" model and he gets all indignant and says he is not a "prostitute model". Dejected, he leaves but is still determined to become a runway model and comes back and forces himself back onto the runway. Everyone is appalled and he is just a disaster. Security comes in to drag him off but he thinks that everyone in the audience adores him and that it is his best work ever and that security is dragging him away to protect him from his crazed fans.
He was such an idiot, it was so funny! I wonder what he has been up to lately?

He had a fractured skull and required several surgeries.
Rogers had no specific memory of how he had been injured, remembering only that he had seen blindingly bright lights from a car pulling up behind him.
A few days later, the Los Angeles Police Department stated that off-duty LAPD officer Michael Duffy (later identified in the press as Richard Duffy) had stopped him for erratic driving, and that Rogers stumbled, fallen and hit his head.
In 1973, the Los Angeles City Council offered him a $200,000 settlement, which Rogers accepted
