If Pharma is going to sell drugs here for so much more $

Now one of the fastest ways to piss me off is to complain about people not speaking English.

However, if big pharma is going to jack the price of drugs sold here so much
higher than everywhere else in the world,

They should at least give them names that I can pronounce!

I'm taking this new drug for my cholesterol and
every time I take it I am reminded of a scene from
The Lion King

It's still illegal for pharmaceutical companies to advertise on TV in the rest of the world.

that drug companies have more advertising on TV than any other business. The class action lawsuits even make the drug companies products look appealing to some. What happened to testing drugs BEFORE they are allowed on the market? I was prescribed a drug for shingles, which was going to cost $545 for a month!! Who gets the profits? I think most of it goes to lobbyists to pay politicians their bribes.

I watch a lot of 24 hour US news, online, and the non-stop drug ads are egregious. Advertising medicine is offensive, but Americans are so used to it now they don't even blink.

"In 2014, drug companies spent $4.5 billion on DTCM. Pharmaceutical advertising has spiralled so far out of control that the American Medical Association last year proposed an outright ban on it, arguing that "a growing proliferation of ads is driving demand for expensive treatments despite the clinical effectiveness of less costly alternatives."

Here in Europe there is ZERO advertising of prescription drugs. Zero. Imagine how nice that would be.

In fact TV in Europe has - literally - half as many ad breaks as US tv. Go figure.

I'll bet they choose names that will sound good in those pump-and-dump TV commercials that make me ill to see.
