(19,310 posts)I usually tear up my cracked wheat heels left from the loaf into bite size pieces and toss 'em into some hot minestrone soup. Yum!

(6,270 posts)Discovered this years ago when I was delivering newspapers and that newsprint just sucked every bit of moisture out of my hands... cracking and bleeding... blech.
Corn Huskers, in small doses, applied three or four times a day... Nothing better!

(20,234 posts)It's the splooping quality of feet being spread to the side along with being too dry for the skin to stretch that causes cracks. Flip flops = more cracks than sneakers.

(15,774 posts)the cold dry air wreaked havoc on my feet. I had serious deep cracks. I discovered the a pumice stone and scrubbing help with preventing as did applying lotion after exfoliation. But what really helped the pain was to apply liquid band aid directly to the crack. The cracks expose nerve ending to the air-thus causing pain. The liquid band aid provided a barrier, and allowed the skin to develop. One of the best thing I ever discovered.
