Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsVery high winds here in Boston today. My building is shaking.
It's kind of freaking me out a little bit. They aren't hurricane level but they are pretty strong. I am also very close to where the Charles River meets the Boston Harbor and there is nothing in front of my building blocking it so it's like a wind tunnel right here.
Just hope the building doesn't blow over before I get a chance to vote on Tuesday!

I have been watching the huge pines in the yard. October has been so wet, you have to wonder how sturdy the root base is. Yikes!

(7,725 posts)60 mph gusts and sustained winds can easily peel shingles in spots. Trees and power outages are most likely concerning. Winds are the worst for me. They are more and more fierce and often the handmaiden of changes in weather that portend grim results. Climate Change.....

(83,354 posts)It has been one weird weather day here. It is suppose to start tapering off tonight. Hopefully power will hold.
Yep. climate change. Stay safe, Cui.
PS. Matches, candles and flashlight are laid out.

(63,221 posts)It comes and goes. The heavy gusts are kind of scary though. I think it will die down overnight which will be a relief.

(63,221 posts)I think it wouldn't be so bad if I was in a more protected area, but there is something about the way our building complex is set up and the location that creates fierce wind tunnels right here. It's like a vortex.

(83,354 posts)That can make it worse. Boston is a rather windy city at best.
Be well!

(83,354 posts)Sure glad we didn't have your problem. The moat would have been a cold plunge.

Just heard the forecast for Election Day: More rain and wind for the entire day. Let's hope everyone who can has voted early, and the rest aren't daunted by Tuesday's weather.
