Deep dish pizza today

I received a recipe from a nice young lady

Pizza crust pre made put it in cast iron pan
Spray pan and cover dough in olive oil
Bake 5 minutes

Then pull it out add sauce cheese toppings bake for 10 minutes at 400

Seems simple almost so simple a man and boog my chocolate kitchen helper can do it

I'd be surprised if the dough was cooked through in 15 minutes total unless it's not that thick mr_lebowski Nov 2018 #4

I had a Papa Murphy's stuffed Chicago Style pan pizza or whatever they call it recently. Those are pretty good and I'd say a fair deal, but a lot of the bulk is just a slab of pizza dough on top. With those guys, you're way better off just doubling the toppings on one of their family size pizzas.

once spread throughout the pan. Getting the crust done right can definitely be tricky with this style of pizza in my experience.

Put the cast iron in the oven and heat it up at the highest temp your oven will go--450 or so. Pull it from the oven, add a little corn flour to the pan, add the rolled out dough and toppings, then return it to the oven. The pizza is done in something like 10 minutes. It's fantastic!
