(20,176 posts)That might have been the most heartbreaking ending I've ever seen for a single-season TV series.
The least they could have done was had Timo beat Uncle Shad senseless.
But no, nobody got a happy ending.

(19,736 posts)Once Bones is done, I'm never getting interested in anything on their shitty channel again. The did no promotional work for The Finder AT ALL. Same shit they did to Firefly, which was one of the best series ever on TV!

Also, consider writing to FOX and USA to see if one or the other would take on a second season. (Yeah, I really love the show that much! )

(9,992 posts)They don't seem to give new shows any chance to build an audience these days. If it's not an instant blockbuster, it's gone.
BTW, did you know that the Michael Britton character is played by the actor who played Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films? Jason Issacs was also in a great British detective show that got canceled too soon called "Case Histories." Hope he lands another series soon and that it stays ON THE AIR!
Never watched "The Finder" so I guess that's one heartbreak I'll be spared. Like you, my favs usually get the ax.
GreenPartyVoter
(72,377 posts)was real. At least in one of them there is a grandchild on the way.
I hope they don't leave us hanging- that there's some sort of wrap-up. Loved "Case Histories" when I saw it on PBS. It wasn't "canceled" it was only meant to be a 6 episodes. And I was shocked that it was the same actor as the HP movies. He's very good.

(9,992 posts)where I saw it.) The ending of the last episode made it seem like there would/could be more. Perhaps there's hope for another series in the future. I really liked it.

(45,558 posts)There were some good shows in there, like The Firm, Bent and Prime Suspect.
In this fast pace world you can't slip or you are gone.
NBC is in a world of trouble.
I like that Body of Proof, a guilty pleasure on ABC, was renewed.
I liked A Gifted Man and Unforgettable on CBS. Both were axed.
what I look for in a TV series is good writing, good acting and a plausable and CONSISTENT theme.
Missing was fun but where does it go from here?
Little Star
(17,055 posts)ps: The firm was great and Unforgettable was top shelf! NBC the ass-hole network!

(72,377 posts)you too, Syfy! "Eureka" was one of my family's fave shows.)
Edited because I can't type worth a darn tonight.

(1,999 posts)When the internet was invented, first thing I found was a forum on compuserv and then later on AOL for Quantum Leap fans. There were a lot of us who remained bitter for years over that cancellation.
My kids remember watching the series on my VHS tapes. I think I'm missing one episode.
GreenPartyVoter
(72,377 posts)be able to share it with them, especially since it's one of those shows that gets you to think. (Like the "Star Treks," another favorite of ours.)

(3,539 posts)these people running the networks are idiots. I swear a group of chimps could do a better job.
Chan790
(20,176 posts)The entire first season of Survivor cost less to make than a single episode of ER, Friends, Law and Order or Seinfeld, the lineup staples of NBC, the leading network at the time. CBS was at-risk of going belly-up, they were losing every market-share except 65+ six nights a week and losing money.
CBS won the primetime war not by making great programming but by creating cheap programming to fill its' lineup. NBC who committed instead to keep spending money to produce dramas (an area where they'd consistently hit gold and dominated) lost their shirts because their lineup cost 3x as much to produce. CBS funneled the profits of their cheap programming venture into buying the rights to developed IPs like CSI after NBC who would have typically been all over that program had blown their budget.

(426 posts)....and I love Silas Weir Mitchell. I haven't heard if that show is being picked up for the fall. But, like everyone else who loses their favorite shows, probably not!
On the other hand, I'm glad House is finally being cancelled. That show ran out of decent story lines about 4 years ago! I never could believe a romance between House and Cuddy...there was NO chemistry between them.
At least it's only one month to go until Burn Notice is back!
