In recent weeks there have been a huge amount of emails claiming to be from "FedEx" that say they can't deliver a package to you because they don't have certain necessary information.
DO NOT DO THIS! FedEx receives all the information they need to deliver a package to you when they accept it for shipping, and they don't send their customers unsolicited emails.

Please make everyone you know aware of this. With the upcoming end-of-year holidays a lot of people will be fooled into giving up their personal information.

(86,332 posts)not about FedEx but concerning "my credit card"... I don't have credit cards. And just when I thought I was done getting calls, got tons of them for months then they stopped about three weeks ago.

(102,138 posts)you can sign up with Fedx and UPS directly to get updates for many of them.
It takes a few seconds to enter in the info, but then I can track everything I have shipped and everything being shipped to me, no matter the shipper.
Of course whenever there is an "exception" noted, it will tell you if there is a problem and you an call them directly. And, yes, while the OP is discussing an obvious scam, I have had packages where some error left off part of the address. To wait for the shipper to EVENTUALLY clear it up can take weeks, so calling UPS directly makes a difference.
