Well, thank Zeus for Windows System Restore (I think - so far)

None of the gory details, but was prepared to be yelling at Techs in who-knows-where. The Restore was supposedly successful, but then the Restart didn't seem to be and I got myself on interminable Hold with HP (they never answered), then instead of my usual Chrome I went through Edge and got myself into a ('nother?) Install of Chrome and things appear to be working - or I wouldn't be here?!1

Now to pack up the box of manuals with 888-numbers that get unpacked and packed ad nauseum.

ON EDIT: I had to LogIn to DU so I guess my cookies are demolished.

Prevent this update until they fix it. A friend has spent the whole day trying to get this to work.

I'll give this update a couple of months to ripen before I ask for it.
