I'm guessing, lots of fall leaves and colors, pumpkin harvest and...lots of fall leaves and colors.
I've got nothin.

(11,637 posts)I used to work for a university program for non traditional students. Many were suffering from food insecurity and I set up a couple cupboards in our staff room for food donations that any staff person could give to any student at any time. But I ramped it up at this time of year and collected money to buy turkeys and other traditional fare and put together substantial boxes for 3-4 families that were selected by staff. I thought this was a good thing. But, one staff member was a Native American and any reference to Thanksgiving was like rubbing salt in a wound, right up there with Columbus Day. Like white privilege, I was unaware of my offense. All of a sudden I felt defensive and confused. I went ahead anyway with the food distribution.
