I fucking hate the wave feature on Facebook.

It's one of those cyber landmines. If your cursor passes over it too slowly it triggers a response you don't want. It usually happens with pop up sales, but now, with the wave button, you just have to pass over anyone's name on the chat section and, suddenly, you're waving to someone who you have no desire to talk to at the moment.

WTF Facebook. You're making everything so much harder!

Or you can just disable location services. (Obviously you're using FB on a phone.). And just FYI, a better place to get FB help might be on FB itself.

Never happens on my I-phone, but I don't use many features from the phone.

I typically have myself set as inactive so people don't see me as online and available to chat and I think that disables the wave thing.

but I have to actually click on the hand to wave. Sounds like you are waving by merely passing your mouse over the wave. Not sure why that this. Not sure if it is my browser. I'm using Chrome.

I checked in to see how she was doing, an dif she needed help with anything.

She messaged back to apologize, and explain that she had been accidentally 'butt-waving' at me...

Okaaaaaaaaay...

I used to have my friends nicely grouped. A few folks are in my News feed, because they post a lot. But most of my friends were grouped in "Close Friends" or "Acquaintances" or "Local" or "High School" or "College" and I didn't have any of them in my News feed. When I wanted to catch up with what my old pals from high school (for example) were up to, I could click on that Group and see them all at once.

Then something changed, and I don't know what it was.

Suddenly, I wasn't getting ANYTHING from anyone. My news feed was dominated by ads and it seemed that nobody was posting anymore. I sort of worked around the problem by "Following" everyone, but now everyone's in my News feed, all thrown together without any organization. Their posts also show up in my groups, but if I Unfollow people, they don't show up anywhere. I don't know what happened or why, but it's taken practically all the enjoyment out of Facebook. I don't see a lot of posts, and the posts I do see I get to go through three or four times.

I'm going to talk with my wife about it, but at this point, I'm ready to just terminate my Facebook page and forget about it. It's just not useful anymore.
