Ex-Blackbird pilot's "LA Speed Story" (ICYMI - a classic)

The pilot had once been in an accident, and was told he'd never fly again, let alone the SR 71...

(note, the video is just some contextual imagery, the story was originally audio-only)

Not sure why, but that reminded me of the Navy diesel submarine drag races we had in the '60s between the mouth of the Thames River and Montauk Point.

That was fun!

We had friends who are pilots, including a now retired AF Colonel who commanded the Thunderbirds for several years. He had stories to tell.
