Music and Architecture fans weigh in

This gigantic guitar shaped hotel is rising over Broward County (southwest of Fort Lauderdale). It is the tallest thing for miles around and can be seen from just about anywhere in the Southern part of the County.

I happen to like it. I wouldn't necessarily want to live close to it so I do feel for the people that live in the area. Love it or hate it, it will make for a pretty iconic structure. It is part of the Hard Rock Cafe resort that is owned by the Seminole Tribe.

What do you think?

I've forgotten the source but the quote is:

Architecture is frozen music.

Neat building! I like it even though I'm a keyboardist.

growth in Florida's high populated areas, without the offsetting infrastructure to support it. Traffic in South Florida from Palm Beach to Miami is miserable. I am also amazed that they would have seem to orient the flat part of the hotel facing the East and West. Seems to me when a hurricane hits that area, and one surely will, the SE direction of the winds will hit the building face on.

Too shiny. And I wonder how well it will withstand the inevitable hurricane.
