Alex The Wonder Dog of beloved memory, did that on & in snow, it must be part of their genetic traits.
I remember the James Herriot Yorkshire Vet books of the 70s reading about one 'Shep'? who would only sleep outside his families house. The vet walked up to the door and a snow covered mound rose to greet him, suprising the vet.

I have a picture of Alex moving through chest deep fresh snow, like a small black furry ice breaker.
A most excellent dog.

We have a new batch of Muscovey's that have not had the pleasure yet either, other than just a dusting. Their latest trick is to fly up on the roof of the house, wander around for a few minutes, then fly straight down to the pond and land on the water.

I was born and raised in FL, and then moved to Silicon Valley lived there 18 years then moved back to FL so most of my life has been spent in warm places. In between I lived in RI for 9 months, I hated the cold and had no car so had to walk a mile in the snow to get to a bus stop. I hated it, hated my feet feeling like feet sickles all the time. I was 18 and couldn't afford to get good boots. I plan to never live anywhere it snows on a regular basis again.
