Anyone else doing Festivus this year?

I am sick as a dog. My kids will be lucky if I get around to ordering their Xmas presents. I'm feeling sorry for myself (when I am not throwing up). Thank god for my cleaning lady who does our laundry. I'm overdue for my root canal finish (another thrilling idea).

I think I'll just stay in bed...

We don't do anything for the holidays. Hubby is Jewish and I am a nonbeliever so that is that. CTyankee Dec 2018 #8

I got a stomach virus on the plane coming back from LA to NYC. Between that and my root canal work I was a mess.

I'll hang in there...I guess...

Took a Dramamine and stomach feeling better. I'll brush my teeth and go to bed early tonight and hope for a better tomorrow!I have the feeling that my primary care doc will refer me to a gastroenteroligist and he or she will order up a bunch of disgusting tests...ugh...

I'm not doing Christmas this year because I don't feel like it. I don't have a spouse or kids and when I spend a holiday with my brother's family they mostly ignore me. So this year I'm either going to rent a cabin in the woods for a few days, or do day trips to take photographs. By myself. I'll love it. Holidays are not for elderly people with no families.

Hubby daughter is a rabbi at a congregation on Long Island, NY. She writes newsletters each month and they are delightful and give me hope and inspiration. So I give thanks for that.

I'll pull myself out of this funk soon, I hope. I have to get better to get their presents to them, even if they are checks so they can get what they want...

Gotta think positive!
