1. Not sure. Some of us are obsessed with dogs.

I am just crazy about dogs. Nothing against cat people, but there are a lot of obsessive people on both sides. I kind of feel like dog people are outnumbered here in the lounge.

I know a lot of "crazy dog ladies" and "crazy dog guys". I guess we are just kind of underground.

You're not portrayed as unkempt, wearing a bathrobe, and your house smelling like piss. Do a google image search for 'crazy cat lady' and then do one for 'crazy dog lady.' The dog ladies are fully dressed.

(That said, I've been in more dog people's homes smelling like piss than cat people's. The cat will piss/shit in a box, the dog just goes on the floor.)

They are different in their expression of companionship but show love the same way. People who say they are a cat person or a dog person are missing out.

and that makes my eyes water and my nose itch. And that doesn't want to go on long walks on a leash.

No, thanks!

13. My cats never ever jump on the counters.

They were never allowed and I utilized a spray bottle often when they were young, then just left it sitting on the counter for years where they could see it for the threat it was. They also stay off the tables for the same reason.

Having had both since I was a child, cats are much, much easier to train than dogs, especially when it comes to housebreaking.

He also thought it was a good idea to keep butter out so it would stay soft. He said when he traveled to India that's how they did it, and it was fine.

One day I walked into the kitchen and found a cat with her little face in the butter dish, licking away. I shooed her away but didn't tell him. Wherever he is, he probably still has a cat somewhere, who knows better than to jump on the counters when he's in the kitchen . . . .

15. Nope, mine do not go on the counter.

I leave my butter out and I could tell if they touch it, they don't. I used to leave it near the edge of the counter, but our tallest dog could reach it with his tongues, so I moved it way back.

My children encouraged the cats in acting out when they were kittens, so they do scratch furniture and I can't get them to stop that.
But the kids didn't want the cats where their food was prepared, so helped me enforce that and the cats don't get on the counters. My previous cat (already an adult when the children were born) had no one to break my training and she didn't get on the counters or table, or scratch the furniture. She was also the smartest cat I've ever seen and did tricks on command, so that might be part of why she excelled so in learning. She knew the water bottle was her enemy, so I had to hide it. Soon as she found it (again) she'd jump up and knock it down - had to switch to plastic after she destroyed several glass versions. Even then, she'd knock it over if she could, then walk around the house swaggering that she had beaten her enemy. She was a hoot and I still miss her.

left in it.

If they didn't actually leave some cat hair, how can you be sure?

At least get a butter dish with a lid!

have to admit to, at one time, living with the family I love, with a dog and 4 cats. And have now been together for 46 years. For the past 5 years we’re down to a more sane 1 dog and 0 cats. Although, I’ve been hearing some disturbing hints lately.

Statistically a much larger number of homes in America own dogs than cats

However, there are more cats than dogs, seems that cat people own more pets per home than dog people. Must be a lot more “crazy cat” people around than I thought.
