I don't know what I was doing when this movie came out, but I've never seen it. In my head I thought it was a rougher version of The Breakfast Club. Maybe just because of the title.
I'm totally freaked out by this movie. I'm actually watching it again right now to see if there is something I missed. I don't understand why this movie is so popular. In fact, I really don't understand the movie at all.

(2,541 posts)It was/is a really good movie. The transformation of Edward Nortons character from the buttoned up guy with the ikea home to anarchist is pretty intense. It certainly made me think about some things. Ive watched probably 5-6 times since it came out and each time catch something I missed in a previous viewing.

(36,457 posts)It was an out there movie, but I liked it. It's been a long time since I've seen it but I remember I couldn't decide if it was about a guy with multiple personality syndrome or a different kind of mental illness, but it was a look inside that world.

Not that i created an entire other identity, but i felt as if i could have. Marriage and children have F'd all that up now. Thanks, family. Kidding! Lord, I'm terrible.
Haggis for Breakfast
(6,831 posts)is probably suffering from personality dissociative disorder, although that's never really made clear to the viewer. Tyler (Brad Pitt) is one of the alternative personalities he creates in his mind to cope with his world.
Does that help ?

(5,524 posts)One of my favorite movies of all time.
It can be confusing the first time because so much of the plot is about the dual personality. You have to watch it again to understand how cleverly they played it.
