Darlene Love "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)"

Every year since 1986, Darlene Love performed "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" on the last episode of Late Show With David Letterman before Christmas. This version in 2014 was the last time on Letterman before his show ended.

For me, watching and listening to this song was, and is, the official start of Christmas.

I really miss his show and especially his celebration of Christmas. He is gone now but Jay Thomas used to tell the Lone Ranger story and throw the football at the pizza on the tree.

Thank you so much for posting this.

The Air America morning DJ's had Darlene Love on one day, promoting her Apollo Christmas show. A guy called in and said it was his birthday. Darlene Love broke into singing happy birthday to him.

I thought of all the times I'd heard Darlene Love singing some beautiful love song on the radio, and wondering what it would be like if it was me she was singing to. This guy was actually listening to the radio and Darlene Love was singing Happy Birthday Baby, just to him. I hope he appreciated it.
