(4,723 posts)The original doen't send a good message: a helpless, highly materialisting woman making ridiculous demands for gifts. The tune itself is good, and Miley Cyrus here turns the song on its head.

(6,854 posts)I prefer traditional carols and classical music over the secular pop Christmas tunes.
Sometimes there's a popular rendition that I like. The Temptations' Silent Night for instance, or Chrissie Hynde singing Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
The SNL thing was cute.

(26,177 posts)Too many personal losses happened around the holidays. But, when it comes to holiday music, I can listen to traditional carols without cringing.
I always thought that 'Santa Baby' was a catchy tune, and wondered, with the current uproar over 'Baby it's cold outside', if this song would come up. I think this was the PERFECT treatment. Have fun with it. Someone should try that with the other.

(6,746 posts)Christmas is debatable. Sometimes I fall for all the hype and sometimes it just annoys me.

(26,177 posts)I think my memories of her are stuck back in her twerking and sticking out her tongue days. She struck me as being too immature and obnoxious to merit any attention.
Perhaps she has moved past that and I should reassess.
